Biography

I moved to the North Lawndale community in 1971. Right from the start, I found myself getting involved in social service work. First, I worked and organized with other youth leaders in my age group to play team sports. Then, I began networking with community organizations and eventually got a group youth involved with the Explorer Scouts! Organizing became a passion for me and to this day I am involved within the North Lawndale community.

Charles is a member of the board of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and is a founding member of their speakers bureau.
